A rousing welcome was accorded to one of the All People’s Congress (APC)’s most revered figures Haja Kadiatu Kuyateh as she returned from the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj, marking yet another chapter in a lifetime of service to the party.
Fondly known as “Mama Kadie Kuyateh ” within party circles, the distinguished elder was warmly received by members of the APC UK chapter at Heathrow Airport. The former Women’s Leader and UK &I Chapter Chairperson has served the APC for over five decades, building a reputation rooted in unwavering loyalty, active engagement, and selfless contribution.
The reception was organised by the APC UK&I executive and drew several party faithful who expressed gratitude and admiration for Mama’s Kuyateh relentless commitment to the cause. Many praised her for her sacrificial role in supporting the party through both prosperous and difficult times, noting that she consistently offered her resources and time without hesitation.
“She’s been everywhere for the APC,” said one supporter at the airport. “Whenever there is party work, Mama is there—not for position, but for conviction.”
The woman in the district says Madam Haja Kadiatu Kuyateh is the mother of the district because she has been a long-serving member of the APC party and she has earned her respect. So the women of the party wanted to give her a grand welcome, and the men rallied around them. Though other APC comrades were part of the Hajj pilgrims, like Mr. Abubakarr Sesay, Mr. Almamy Bangu and his wife, and they were all welcomed, there was another plan because she’s always with the women and she accepted everyone as her child. “She deserves all of this and more,” said Simeon Bangura, the Chairman of APC in UK & Ireland.
As a long-serving figure and a respected elder in the APC UK community, her return from the holy city of Makkah was seen not just as a spiritual milestone, but as a symbolic reminder of dedication and resilience in political life. Supporters prayed for her continued good health and strength, hoping she remains a source of inspiration to both older and younger members of the party.
May her Hajj be accepted, and may her contributions to the APC continue to bear fruit for the movement she has so faithfully championed.
