United States-based Sierra Leonean actress, producer and writer – Princess Jnap Sesay delivered a compelling speech during Sierra Leone’s 62nd Independence Day celebration on AYV TV, aired on April 27th 2023.

The CEO of Real-Time Management highlighted the tremendous strides made by Sierra Leone to become one of the most exceptional nations in West Africa while acknowledging the enormous challenges this nation has faced since Independence.

Her declaration speech, titled “National Independence Declaration,” emphasized the unwavering resilience of Mama Salone (Sierra Leone) in the face of civil unrest, Ebola epidemic and landslides.

However, her speech attracted mixed reactions from fans on social media when she acknowledged and referred to our national football stars as ‘heroes’, who have put their lives on the line to represent our nation.

One notable comment on social media from a blogger who aversed to that opinion by Jnap reads:

“Jnap SESAY delivers a powerful Independence speech at AYV… This speech fine oh but dae Football part duya (lol) den we pwel Players den Ya.”

Princess Jnap is renowned for flying the country’s flag on the international stage over the years. She’s been travelling far and wide to showcase her country’s (Sierra Leone) heritage at a global stage. Networking with creme de la creme in the movie world, from Holywood to Nollywood.

A few months back, she was a special guest at the African premier of the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ blockbuster movie in Lagos, Nigeria. She was also a honoree at the AFFRIX Festival in Lagos, plus meeting executives from Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Jnap’s love for her country of birth is sacrosanct. The reason she delivered a message of hope to a challenging nation on Independence Day. This illustrates her selflessness and continues to inspire the young generation of change makers.
