Professor Sesay has been appointed as the first Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the Canadian University of Modern Technology, the newest University in Sierra Leone. Prior to his appointment, Professor Sesay served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), and Professor Sesay is one of Sierra Leone’s most experienced leaders in higher education.
Professor Sesay is a father of three children, Alice Sesay Pope ( Global Vice President of Device, Digital and Alexa Technical Support at Amazon), Ola Abbott (Physical Therapist at Guardian Healthcare in San Antonio, Texas), and Sammy Sesay (Engagement Manager at 3M Company in Dallas, Texas).
Professor Sesay has worked in Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and at several universities in the United States, where he went as a Fulbright Scholar including the University of Maine at Farmington, the University of Maine at Fort Kent, Howard University in Washington, DC, and Shaw University.
Professor Sesay has been praised for his strong commitment to answering the needs of young people. His research interests include international comparisons of young children’s worldviews as a foundation for preparing them for effective future leaders, educational policy evaluation (impact analysis), and multicultural issues, particularly those pertaining to gender equity in education.

Professor Sesay arrived on campus to a warm welcome from the entire University community to take up his new role as Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University.This appointment was made by the university’s Board of Trustees, awaiting the approval of the Governing Council of the university, following a special meeting held on January 15, 2022.
