QNET says its cooperation with law-enforcement agencies and international organisations is producing tangible results in efforts to combat fraud and protect people targeted by schemes that misuse or misrepresent the company’s name. The company cites more than 300 victims rescued through cooperation with Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), alongside case referrals, intelligence-sharing and distributor enforcement measures.

At QNET VCON Malaysia 2026 media webinars held for journalists in Liberia and Sierra Leone on 22 October, the company described partnerships with authorities as central to its response to fraud. It said these efforts include sharing intelligence, reporting suspected offences and supporting joint action against criminal networks.

Cherif Sarr, QNET’s Regional General Manager for West and Central Africa, identified the company’s memorandum of understanding with Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) as a key cornerstone.

Sarr also said QNET shares intelligence with security agencies and has held security workshops with INTERPOL to explore ways to counter scams involving the company’s name and products. The company said it has formally endorsed the UNODC–INTERPOL Global Public-Private Partnership Framework Against Fraud and takes part in workshops intended to improve regional coordination.

“We have moved far beyond just saying things we like to do; we are actually doing the things we promised to do,” Sarr said, describing cooperation with authorities as part of a broader effort to distinguish QNET’s legitimate business from criminal activity carried out by others.

QNET said it had submitted 158 cases to authorities and assisted more than 3,000 victims in returning to their countries or families. It also reported terminating 141 distributor accounts for non-compliance between 2025 and the October 2026 briefings. Of those accounts, 26 were linked to facilitating false cross-border movement, the company said.

The company reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward misuse of its name in scams, deceptive job offers, coercion or illegal cross-border movement. It also said it has introduced a Business 2U accreditation process requiring independent distributors to undergo verification, meet regulatory requirements and receive authorisation before operating independent offices.

QNET urged the public to report suspicious offices claiming to represent the company. Its “QNET Against Scams” campaign, launched in August 2024, provides public education and channels for reporting suspected fraud. The company said the campaign has been implemented in Ghana, Sierra Leone and Senegal, with plans to deepen its reach and extend it to more countries.

The webinars also featured accounts from journalists who had visited QNET’s Malaysian headquarters. Cecilia Sesay, a television presenter with the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation, said her September visit was eye-opening. She said she saw the company’s office, products and professional staff, and was able to ask QNET management difficult questions about the company and the misuse of its name and products in Liberia and Sierra Leone. She said she was satisfied and impressed with what she now knows about QNET.

Blamo Toe, a reporter with Liberian Investigator, described visiting QNET’s head office and product gallery, attending a company briefing and visiting QI University. He also recounted attending the VCON opening ceremony, which brought together independent distributors from many countries, and a press conference with QNET executives. Toe said the press conference provided transparent, genuine answers to his questions.

Since 2022, QNET has invited journalists and social media influencers from across Africa to visit its Malaysian headquarters and attend VCON, its signature global conference. The company says these visits give participants an opportunity to learn about its business and share their observations with colleagues and the public.

Amin Kef Sesay, Managing Editor of The Calabash Newspaper, hosted the webinars for the Liberia and Sierra Leone session.
