QCell Sierra Leone has officially launched its new 035 number series as part of efforts to expand its mobile network and provide customers with more options when selecting their preferred phone numbers.

The new number series was unveiled during an official launch event attended by senior QCell and QMoney officials.

Speaking at the event, QCell Sierra Leone Chief Executive Officer, Jayamani Kathick, said the introduction of the 035 series reflects the company’s continued investment in innovation, improved customer experience and nationwide connectivity.

“The launch of the 035 number series demonstrates QCell’s continued investment in innovation, customer experience and national connectivity. We are giving Sierra Leoneans more opportunities to choose numbers that reflect their identity while meeting the growing demand for mobile services across the country,” Kathick said.

The company announced that customers will be able to reserve and purchase their preferred 035 numbers through designated QCell offices and authorised sales channels across the country.

QCell’s Head of Marketing and Product, Edward Nelson Pratt, said customers who purchase a new 035 SIM card will receive a welcome package consisting of 10 minutes of voice calls, 300MB of data and 100 SMS.

The offer is intended to give new subscribers immediate access to QCell’s voice, internet and messaging services after activating their SIM cards.

Also speaking at the launch, the Head of QMoney Sierra Leone, Gabriel Mendy, said the expansion would allow QCell to connect more Sierra Leoneans while providing subscribers with easy access to QMoney’s mobile financial services.

“The expansion of the 035 series means greater QCell connectivity for more Sierra Leoneans. Subscribers will also have seamless access to QMoney transactions,” Mendy said.

He added that QMoney operates under strong Know Your Customer requirements and has introduced improved security measures aimed at protecting subscribers and strengthening public confidence in the platform.

“We are ensuring that our customers are safe and can trust QMoney like a bank. In three years of operations, we have never been mentioned in any fraud-related headline. This shows our commitment to security,” he said.

Mendy concluded his statement by highlighting the relationship between QCell’s telecommunications services and its mobile money platform.

“QCell is the bread, and QMoney is the butter,” he said.

The launch of the new 035 number series is expected to increase the availability of QCell SIM cards, expand access to mobile services and support the growing use of QMoney transactions across Sierra Leone.
