President Julius Maada Bio has welcomed the revival of the Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to strengthening cooperation between the government and the private sector to drive economic growth and investment.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, President Bio said he was pleased to receive members of the Chamber following its revival, describing the engagement as an important step toward fostering stronger public-private sector collaboration.
“I was excited to welcome members of the Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce after its revival,” the President stated.
During the meeting, the Chamber pledged its support for the upcoming West Africa Integration and Investment Summit (WAIIS), a regional platform expected to promote trade, investment, and economic cooperation across West Africa.
President Bio welcomed the Chamber’s commitment to the summit and emphasized the importance of the private sector in advancing Sierra Leone’s economic development agenda.
“I welcomed the Chamber’s commitment to supporting the upcoming West Africa Integration and Investment Summit (WAIIS) and reaffirmed my government’s commitment to helping it strengthen collaboration between the private sector and government,” he said.
The meeting comes as the government continues to promote private sector participation as a key driver of economic transformation, job creation, and investment. The revival of the Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce is expected to provide businesses with a stronger platform to engage with policymakers, advocate for reforms, and contribute to national development initiatives.

The forthcoming West Africa Integration and Investment Summit is expected to bring together governments, investors, business leaders, and development partners to explore opportunities for regional trade, investment, and economic integration.
