Afrikonet, a growing e-commerce platform in Sierra Leone, and ICONA, a retailer of home appliances and electronics, have signed a new partnership aimed at making it easier for customers to shop for ICONA products online and have them delivered safely to their doorstep.
The agreement, concluded on Saturday, January 31, brings together Afrikonet’s online marketplace with ICONA’s product range. Under the terms, customers no longer need to visit physical ICONA shops to make purchases. Instead, they can use the Afrikonet app or website to browse, order, and receive ICONA goods directly at their chosen delivery address.
Representatives from both organizations signed the partnership documents: Miss Sheriff for Afrikonet and Joshua Khan on behalf of ICONA. The deal reflects growing interest in digital commerce solutions in Sierra Leone and efforts to reduce friction for consumers who have in the past had to travel long distances to shop in person.
Afrikonet is a local online marketplace that enables buyers and sellers to connect within Sierra Leone, offering a variety of products ranging from electronics to household items, fashion, groceries, and many more. Afrikonet, which was introduced nationally in May 2025, aims at helping local businesses thrive by ensuring that e-commerce is convenient and reliable for the consumer. It allows users to browse products and pay through common mobile payment methods such as Orange Money and Afrimoney, as well as debit cards and cash on delivery. The service also facilitates secure transactions and the delivery of products across the country. Therefore, it helps in bridging the gap between sellers and buyers even in rural areas.
ICONA is a well-known retailer of various home appliances and electronic devices. Although ICONA’s operations extend beyond Sierra Leone, the brand enjoys strong recognition in local markets for providing quality products. In recent years ICONA has positioned itself to leverage both physical retail and broader distribution networks to meet customer demand for durable, everyday goods.
The new partnership allows ICONA to tap into Afrikonet’s online shopping infrastructure and customer base, while giving Afrikonet additional product lines that appeal to shoppers looking for appliances and technology goods.

Under the arrangement, customers can simply download the Afrikonet app or visit the Afrikonet platform to select ICONA products. Orders placed through the platform will be delivered to the customer’s location without the need to make a physical trip to an ICONA store. The service is part of both companies’ efforts to make shopping more convenient and responsive to the needs of busy consumers.
