Ghanaian Prophet Ebo Noah Arrested After Failed Doomsday Flood Prophecy

Ghanaian self-styled prophet Ebo Noah has reportedly been arrested by state authorities following a dramatic and widely publicized prophecy that the world would be destroyed by a global flood on December 25, 2025.

Ebo Noah rose to national and international attention earlier this year after declaring that God had revealed to him an imminent, Bible-style flood that would wipe out humanity. According to his claims, only those who followed divine instructions would be spared. Consequently, based on what he referred to as direct spiritual guidance, the prophet started building an “ark,” which he promoted as a refuge in advance of the impending disaster.

As Christmas Day drew near, panic and curiosity mounted, and this was mainly sparked by videos and live broadcasts on social media. It is said that thousands of followers from all over Ghana, and even abroad, took a trip to see the ark-some searching for protection from impending physical catastrophe and others for reassurance about their spiritual fate. Scenes and shots of groups milling around the building became widely shared on social media. Religious leaders, civil groups, and government agencies were in fray, debating and taking utmost concern about what has been made into a furor.

It thus came and passed without any flooding, and the public scrutiny deepened. Other reports had it that he claimed God had answered his prayers and postponed the disaster, a development that only seemed to inflame public anger and raise questions about accountability, public safety, and religious manipulation.

Authorities are said to have acted after assessing the broader impact of the prophecy, including public disorder, emotional distress among followers, and the potential for exploitation. The arrest finally came in what was a saga that had brought into sharp relief the fine line between religious freedom and responsibility in ensuring no mobilization of fear-stricken masses is effectuated.

The case has reopened a long-running national conversation in Ghana regarding the prophetic declarations of doom, many of which have gone unchallenged despite their implications in society. Failed prophecies about the end-time and sensational spiritual claims have since received growing criticism in recent years when panic, financial loss, or psychological harm among believers has ensued.

As the investigation unfolds, the authorities have yet to provide all the necessary information on the charges that Ebo Noah could be facing. However, the need for maintaining public order with the promotion of freedom of worship has been reiterated by the officials. Religious influence cannot be used for manipulating or endangering lives.

For many Ghanaians, incident remains a grim reminder of the potency of faith, the susceptibility of devout believers, and, importantly, the need for critical thinking at a time when prophecy can move faster than truth.
