Final preparations are underway for the Young Women Conference 2025, a two-day national gathering that aims to inspire leadership, confidence, and participation among young women across the country.
The conference, scheduled for 26–27 November 2025 at the Bintumani Business Centre Hall in Freetown, is being organised by the Young Women in Governance Network with funding support from Irish Aid, the Embassy of Ireland in Sierra Leone, and Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Hundreds of young women, policymakers, activists, development partners, and community leaders are expected to attend. The event will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, networking sessions, and practical skills-building activities designed to strengthen women’s voices in national development.
Organisers say the conference will provide a platform for young women to share experiences, build partnerships, and gain the confidence needed to lead in governance, business, education, and community development.
They believe that creating these spaces is key to building a more inclusive, equal, and empowered Sierra Leone.
The event will run daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Participants and supporters are encouraged to join the movement as young women rise, connect, and lead with purpose.
