The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has begun looking into a petition filed by former Vice-President Chief Samuel Sam-Sumana against the All People’s Congress (APC).

Sam-Sumana took the matter to the PPRC after claiming that the APC did not follow its own rules in how it handled issues relating to him. His petition raises concerns about internal party processes and how decisions were made.

During the opening of the hearing, the PPRC said it would focus on ensuring that the APC acted according to its constitution and the laws governing political parties in Sierra Leone. The Commission also stressed that all political parties must operate in a transparent and accountable manner.

The APC has not publicly gone into detail about its defence, but the party has maintained that its actions were in line with its constitution.

The case has attracted wide public interest, as it may influence how political parties resolve disputes involving membership, leadership ambitions, and decision-making.
