The Development Studies Department at the University of Makeni (Unimak) recently held jogging event, bringing students of the department together to promote health, unity, and community spirit. The event, held on November 17, was spearheaded by none other than Madam Mary Kargbo, affectionately known as Treasure the People’s Grandma. A final-year student in Development Studies, Madam Kargbo is also an entrepreneur and the visionary CEO of Kargbo’s Enterprise.
The jogging route started at Mena Junction and took participants through various iconic locations, including Agriculture Road, Station Road, and Mabanta Road, before concluding at Unimak’s Fatima Campus. The event began promptly at 7:00 AM, with students arriving as early as 6:30 AM, demonstrating their enthusiasm for this initiative.
Madam Mary Kargbo expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all participants for making the event a resounding success. “This event not only demonstrated our commitment to health and well-being but also strengthened the bonds of love and unionism within our department. It was a memorable and valuable experience that will remain etched in our hearts,” she stated.
