The University of Makeni (UNIMAK) has achieved an unprecedented victory at the International Youth Diplomacy Conference 2024 (IYDC24), with its delegates sweeping multiple awards across various committees. This historic achievement marks a significant milestone for the university, particularly for its Political Science department, which played a crucial role in the success of its students.

Among the notable winners is Daniel Nathan Sesay, who not only clinched the prestigious UNSC Best Delegate award but also earned the title of Overall Best Delegate at IDYC24. This outstanding recognition highlights his exceptional diplomatic skills and deep understanding of global issues.

Abdulai Barrie made history as well by winning the ECOFIN Best Delegate award, coupled with an Honorable Mention โ€“ a first-time occurrence in the history of Model United Nations (MUN) conferences. This dual recognition showcases his remarkable analytical abilities and negotiation prowess.

Ashamieu B. Barrie emerged as the Best Delegate in the World Health Organization (WHO) committee, demonstrating his expertise in addressing critical health challenges on the global stage.

Sophie Kelson Sesay stood out in the UNESCO committee, earning the Best Delegate award for her insightful contributions and leadership in the discussions.

Fatima Mujay Josephine Kowa made waves in the COP28 committee, winning multiple accolades: Best Delegate, Best Dressed Female, and Overall Best Dressed Delegate. Her achievements reflect not only her diplomatic acumen but also her poise and presentation skills.

Victor Shorunkeh Palmer added to the universityโ€™s accolades by winning the UNSC Best Dressed Delegate award, further showcasing the diverse talents of UNIMAKโ€™s representatives.
