Col. Samai, November 26th fallen soldier laid to rest in his hometown

One of Sierra Leone’s fallen servicemen of the November 26th failed coup attempt, Colonel Wilfred Sao Samai, has been taken to his hometown in Bo District for his final departure to eternity.

The stakeholders of Bo District, held a Civic Laying-Out Ceremony in respect of the late man at the Bo School Compound.

The deceased, who until his death, was the RSLAF Chief of Operations was killed on Sunday 26th  November, 2023 during the failed coup attempt on the Government of Serra Leone.

Reports has it that, he was ambushed and killed at Murray Town Junction together with Warrant Officer Class 2 Marrah. Colonel Samai with the Commander Joint Force, Major General Dauda Alpha, was heading to repel another attack at Cockerill Barracks after they had successfully contained the initial attack at Wilberforce Barracks, when he met his end.

According to the RSLAF Joint Force, he will be laid to rest today, Tuesday 19 December, 2023 in his hometown, Gbangbalia in Bargbo Chiefdom, Bo District.
