The march started at the town’s court barray, lining up pupils, teachers, police officers, and community stakeholders. They made their way through the town’s central streets, singing songs of praise, chanting slogans of peace and unity, and dancing joyously to the masterpiece of the band.

The march also featured an announcement by Giving Tuesday’s team to the people that there will be FREE diabetes and high blood pressure test at the Maternity Hall in the headquarter town’s main hospital.

At the closure of the event, which later took place at the court barray where the march started, Santigie Bayoh Dumbuya, lead coordinator of Giving Tuesday Sierra Leone, told the people of Kamakwie to always remember their home where they came from. He further stated that they (Giving Tuesday Sierra Leone) has partnered with Books for Africa to help distribute books to schools in Kamakwie. He assured the people that they are “always energized to bring development to Karene District”.

He told young girls and boys to be generous to each other and be kind to each other. “Love one another, keep the peace, and be your brother’s keeper. No matter where you go, always remember Karene District, come back and give to the place that made you,” he said.

To mark the end of the day, an electrifying musical performance was done by one of the best Limba singers in the country, G-Light. His performance electrified the whole court barray, performing his conscious hit song “Money” featuring Sir Wahid.
