Sierra Leone international footballer Jay Tee Kamara has signed a three-year deal with Swedish Division One side Ljungskile SK, just two months after joining AIK Freetong FC as a free agent. Kamara’s contract with US-based club Columbus Crew 2 had expired on December 31, 2022, and he signed for AIK Freetong in January 2023. Upon signing the player, AIK Freetong facilitated the return of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) from the US Soccer Federation to the Sierra Leone Football Association.

Kamara, a 20-year-old forward, has played for several clubs in the United States, including Louisville City, North Carolina FC, and Columbus Crew 2, since February 2021. He is known for his quick feet and dribbling skills and has represented Sierra Leone in the U20, U23, and senior categories. Recently, he played in a double-header U23 fixture between Sierra Leone and Zambia and was also part of the Leone Stars squad that played in a friendly match against Algeria B in the UAE in November 2022.

AIK Freetong FC expressed their best wishes for Kamara’s new challenge and thanked their intermediaries, Global Soccer Management (SL) Ltd. and Fella Sport Management, for their roles in the transfer. With his talent and potential, Kamara will undoubtedly be an asset to his new team and a joy to watch for football fans in Sweden.
