Hafsah Dauda, a talented Nigerian lawyer, has been awarded the highly competitive Chevening Scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in Psychology in the United Kingdom. The Chevening Scholarship, which is awarded annually by the UK government, allows international students to study for a Master’s degree at any university in the UK for free. Applications for the 2023 scholarship award are currently open.
Hafsah, who applied for the 2022 scholarship award, celebrated her selection as one of the scholarship winners on her LinkedIn page. She wrote, “I am delighted to announce that I shall be pursuing an MSc in Psychological Studies with Mental Health at the prestigious University of Aberdeen, UK.”
Previously, Hafsah had obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Bayero University in Nigeria. Explaining why she chose to switch from Law to Psychology, she described the decision as challenging but natural. She said, “Deciding to transition from Law to Psychology has been one of the most challenging yet most natural things for me. But it had remained a dream until I decided to take a leap of faith.”
