Richard Tamba Ellie is celebrating a major milestone in his life as he announces his graduation from Njala University with a degree. In a recent Facebook post, he expressed his excitement and gratitude for achieving this accomplishment whiles motivated Okada riders to never give up in their struggle for survival.

Graduating from a university is not an easy feat, and it takes hard work, dedication, and perseverance to make it to the finish line. Richard’s post shows that he has put in the effort and has been rewarded for it. His degree represents the knowledge and skills he has acquired during his time at Njala University and serves as a testament to his academic abilities.

 

It is clear that Richard is proud of himself despite being an Okada rider in Sierra Leone, and he should be. Graduating from university is an important milestone that marks the beginning of a new chapter in Richard’s life. With his degree, he can now embark on new opportunities and explore different career paths. His determination and hard work have paid off, and he can now move forward with confidence and pride.

To some, we were idlers, thieves, and youths with failed visions and dreams who had nothing else to do than to run commercial motorbikes. Some had no positive thoughts and sayings about us, but I was one of the many commercial motorbike riders who are running it to raise money and support their education. There are also many out there who are doing it to put food on the table for their families and support their children’s dreams, some are doing it to raise money and go after their dreams. So stop generalizing your negative thoughts and sayings about commercial motorbike riders.
To every commercial motorbike riders, whether you are doing it to raise money for your education or to put food on the table for your families and support your children’s dreams, I want you to know that you are a hero, you are doing well, I and some other people are proud of you.
That you’re running commercial motorbike doesn’t mean you’re a failure, you can become the best you wish to be, you can achieve your dreams, don’t let society weigh you down, you are a winner! I am rooting for you as one of you, strive to achieve those of your dreams. Other commercial motorbike riders have done it before, I have done it, you can do it! Never settle for less, commercial motorbike riders don’t settle for less, aim higher and take action to get there!

Sallu has worked on various developmental and policy issues such as Poverty, Climate Change, Human rights, Child Rights, Education, Health, Gender Equality, Civic Engagement, Government policies, Information Communication Technology for Development and the Sustainable Development Goals, and has also been contributing to various global events and advocacy campaigns. She could have died. Sallu told the story via social media and was able to secure funding from the United Sierra Leone to buy her medication and advocated for her. She was later discharged and taken home, He did the same to a patient that died and was abandoned in the street, Sallu Kamuskay used his phone and shared the message across, the corps was later taken and buried. He shared her sad story and was able to get a sister who has taken the child as her own and is currently providing her with educational support.
