Yesterday, Umu Kutume Sall celebrated her birthday, an occasion that marked a major milestone for the budding medical student. Just a few short years prior, Sall was about to begin her journey in clinical sciences at College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences.
It was a big change and leap of faith for Sall, who is now learning and interacting with patients in a medical setting. In her recent Facebook post, Sall reflected on the challenging journey that stands before her and shared her hopes and motivations for the future.
“We usually don’t choose medicine for the money because the kind of money you’ll be looking for compared to the workload is different,” Sall wrote. She went on to explain that money isn’t the primary motivator for her, and that her wish is to use her training and professional skill to improve the healthcare system and the society.
