Who is Mello Seven

Jonathan Obai Fitzjohn, popularly known as Mello Seven is an Afro Fusion artist hailing from Sierra Leone , West Africa.

As a University Graduate with a B.sc degree in business administration, music has always been his deep passion but he was committed to completing his undergraduate degree first.

The singer/songwriter started hitting the studios in 2016 but was unable to pay for original beats, hence recording songs using mixtape beats. Some of these songs were shared with the public starting in 2017, with the likes of “Body Na Quality” and ” Fallin 4 U” all accompanied with a music video.

Mello Seven later got the opportunity to work with Drizilik who is one of Sierra Leone’s popular rappers on an original song titled “kon Fu” which was released in 2019; giving him the recognition in the music circuits. This was then followed by his other original releases “Personal Posin”, “The Map”, “Amapiano”, “Champion(featuring Shadow Boxxer)” and his newest single rocking the airwaves in 2022 “Enjoyment(featuring LAJ)”.

With the surge in recognition of African Music/Afrobeat around the world, Mello Seven is determined to ensure that Sierra Leonean music is a part of the renaissance.

Steady on the grind, Mello has taken the time to hone his craft, build, and develop his career. As a result he has been invited to perform at various events such as KME Beach Fiesta, Sierra Buzz, TED X Mayor of Freetown, The Ma Dengn Beach Festival and House Mates Salone Finale. His songs and videos are being played in all of the major clubs, radio and TV stations across the country, which is a testament to his effort in becoming a household name in this society.
