The She Leads Sierra Leone Consortium members – DCI – Sierra Leone, Plan and Women’s Forum, has jointly successfully held a two day capacity building training for 30 young female aspirants from ll political parties including APC, SLPP, NGC and C4C, contesting Sierra Leone’s June 23 2023 general elections._
*While the training attracted representatives from the Ministry off Gender and Children’s Affairs, Ministry of Social Welfare, the NEC, PPRC and the SLP, it aimed at empowering female aspirants with the required skills to address elections related gaps, galvanise local support, mobilise local resources and effectively engage women at community levels on issues affecting them as well as expanding political spaces and platforms for other women to effectively participate in the electoral process.*
_Young aperients were also empowered with information on the role of governance institutions including the SLP, PPRC, and NEC amongst others on their roles and responsibilities in promoting peace and effective participation in Sierra Leone’s June 2023 presidential, parliamentary and local council election in June 24th 2023._
