19-year-old man abandons university degree to become a scholar in cake making, now earns over $100,000

At 19-year-old, Justin Ellen is an extraordinary entrepreneur, who chose to forego the traditional route of enrolling for a degree in a US university in favor of pursuing his passion for cake making. In an interview with CNBC, the budding cake expert opened up about his journey from high school to becoming a scholar in his field.

When Justin finished high school at 17, he faced immense pressure to pursue a college degree. However, he was determined to follow his own path and, despite his peers enrolling in university, he chose to focus on his cake business, Everything Just Baked. Now, the business earns over $100,000 annually and is proof of his dedication and devotion to baking.

Justin’s story of taking an unconventional route to success stands in stark contrast to his peers who attended college and have since won a number of scholarships and grants to do scientific research. His message of going against the grain in order to achieve one’s dreams is a powerful one.

This teaches us all that sometimes the easiest root to success is though business.
