Dear Mr President,
UNIVERSITY STUDENT ARE BEING LEFT OUT!
Hello Mr. President, I must applaud you for your resilient and tireless commitment towards the educational sector.
You have been so enthusiastic in transforming the educational sector and investing in the lives of young Sierra Leoneans through education.
Mr. President, your administration has allocated 21% of government’s budget to invest in Basic and Senior Secondary Education, which is the highest budgetary allocation during the previous years, which is good. Investing in young people through education is a platform of high return.
Mr. President, your administration as well has greatly favored technical and vocational education, for which they have built Technical vocational institutions of 70% across different regions and districts in Sierra Leone. I must give accolades to your administration as well because the technical-vocational institution does not only serve early school leavers but also older adults and helping young people to pursue their skills and craftsmanship as well.
Mr. President, the University Students of Sierra Leone has throughout the previous regime on to this present moment, suffering from chronic neglect.
Mr. President, the university students too deserve better as you have done for others. The responsibility of the university is to produce high calibre of students that will be serving at the top level of the country’s administration, but it will be difficult for the university to succeed if the students are not capacitated.
So in that light, the students of Sierra Leone are kindly pleading for you to look into the following request stated below to fulfil one or two.
1. Student Allowance as per Semester
2. Student loan scheme
3. Graduation entrepreneurship fund.
GOD Bless you Mr. President,
GOD Bless Sierra Leone.
