Growing up was tough, Ibrahim and his twin brother were the last kids to their dad, and they came from a very extended family with his dad having over 25 children and 7 wives,

“So things were tough more so when our dad died when we were 5. Growing up as twins and we have a younger brother now late, our mum was a petty trader and she sold everything that was there to sell, just to raise us, things were tough, we trekked going to school, but what kept us going was the prayers and the competition between me and my twin brother, so that forced us to study hard because everyone wants to emerge 1st position.” Ibrahim disclosed to Salone Messenger during an interview.

Earlier this year, Ibrahim launched a show called Meet the professionals on YouTube where he engage professionals  from academics, business, executives, change management experts and many more to share their inspiring journey, the platform also serves as mentorship platform for young people where professions he interview serve as mentors to young people by organizing seminars for the professionals across the country with more focus to remote communities where the professionals have the opportunity to engage young people.  Speaking to Salone Messenger about his passion to go into all of these activities, He noted

“My passion to serve and help others, led me into all these activities, what inspired me was the fact that, everything on the news is either a political or an entertainment news and there is little attention paid to professionalism, so that inspired me to start a platform that bring professionals together and share their stories.”

The YouTube channel has over 600 subscribers with over 7,000 views in the last few months since he started the channel.  When asked about the impacts the show is making in the lives of young people, he said

“Well young people are following the show, and so far, most of them have been inspired greatly to change the way they think, do things, and relate to others and it’s a great learning experience for all of us.”

The show capture Sierra Leonean professionals at home or abroad, but due to accessibility, the home-based professionals are more featured on the show, and I hope to bring other professionals from across the continent.
