Sierra Leonean prodigy Big has just released his first-ever studio album, titled “Boy From Sierra Leone,” which is now available on all major streaming platforms. The album is powered by his self-made label, AVO Music, and is a celebration of the resilience and strength of the Sierra Leonean people, despite the difficult times the nation has faced over the past three decades.

The album was produced at Bruce Empire Studio in Makeni by three young producers: Skyy Boy Beatz, Prince Obama, and Bruce Jay. It features 12 songs that showcase the artist’s musical prowess and diversity, drawing inspiration from various genres like Afrobeat, R&B, and Reggae. The album also features three of Makeni’s finest acts in entertainment, including two rappers, Biggie King and Tunks-man, and a model, Poli Hense.

“Boy From Sierra Leone” expresses the artist’s pride in his country and his belief that Sierra Leone can compete with other giants in the music industry across Africa and the world. The album features songs that touch on themes like love, hope, and social justice, reflecting the artist’s commitment to using his music to effect positive change in his community and beyond.

Festus is also a perpetual volunteer in life-changing causes and has shown great commitment and dedication to being a catalyst and solution to the challenges faced by young people like himself. Festus currently serves as the Secretary General of the Africa Youth Leaders movement which is a network of youth between the ages of 20 – 30 years who have shown achievement, leadership potential and commitment to make a difference. Festus is also the Africa Focal Point of Youth for Change Initiative, which is a platform through which young people can access resources, be empowered and given the opportunity to grow to become useful members of society who will participate in the development of their communities and nation. Along with another Africa Youth platform, Festus has Co-Founded the Future of Africa initiative which is an advocate forum with the aim to bring together local and international socio-economic stakeholders to support innovative programs aimed at advancing the radical and practical progress of adoption awareness-vulnerable children and youth and youth leadership-through interlinking local, regional and international resources and opportunities.
